About Monero - The Privacy Cryptocurrency

Monero Logo

Whilst Incognito offers buyers the option to pay with both Bitcoin and Monero, we strongly recommend taking the time to familiarize yourself with Monero for its privacy and security benefits compared to Bitcoin. Add to that lower transaction times and much lower fees, we believe it to be the best cryptocurrency for darknet transactions. If you are interested in buying Monero, follow these steps:

  • 1. Choose a wallet: You’ll need a Monero wallet to hold your coins. There are several Monero wallets available, including official wallets, hardware wallets, and software wallets. Choose the one that best suits your needs. You can find a list of Monero wallets here.
  • 2. Choose an exchange: There are several exchanges where you can purchase Monero directly, with LocalMonero offering the best service due to not requiring KYC. Alternatively purchase Bitcoin and then swap it to Monero.
  • 3. Create an account: Once you’ve chosen an exchange platform, create an account. Many major sites such as Coinbase and Binance will require personal information. As long as you don't send any crypto funds you purchase directly from the exchange to the market, this is still safe.
  • 4. Fund your account: Depending on the exchange, you can fund your account using a bank transfer, credit card, PayPal etc.
  • 5. Purchase cryptocurrency: Once your account has been funded, go to the Bitcoin or Monero trading section and place an order to buy using your deposited funds.
  • 6. Convert to Monero (where necessary): If you have bought Bitcoin, use exchanger service to swap for Monero (ideally have the Monero sent to your external wallet). Take a look at the exchanges recommended here or here. Exchange fees can be between 0.5% and 5%, but it's a price worth paying for security.
  • 7. Transfer Monero to your wallet: Once you have purchased Monero, it’s recommended that you transfer your coins to your Monero wallet. This will protect your coins from being lost or stolen on the exchange.
  • 8. Place an order: You can now place an order and deposit to Incognito, either by paying at the checkout or first depositing funds to your market wallet.

Remember to always practice good security measures, such as using strong passwords and enabling two-factor authentication, when handling your Monero purchases. The same principles apply to your Incognito Market account.
